While many bands have members who grow to be close as kin, for the duo of ATISHA and NISHITA LULLA, making and playing music is definitely a family affair, even down to their nom de plume. LullaNAs is two sisters—twins, in fact—who play acoustic pop music. Blessed with heavenly voices that harmonize in perfect frequency, the two, seemingly without any effort, take the pop influences that have formed their foundation and run away with them. With endless cover versions plucked from modern pop radio charts filling their YouTube Channel (as well as baking tips and interviews with other musicians), the two have become something of an internet sensation, pulling in hundreds of thousands of views. They have taken their honey-coated throats and gave dozens of radio hits—from Ed Sheeran, Foster the People, Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, Stevie Nicks and Christina Perri just to name a few—their own personal treatment, drenching them in a modest innocence, revealing both the original intent and a new look at what lies beneath the songs and the intentions of their original creators. Their own narrative compositions are similarly exquisite: at once honestly striking, via harmonies that only two quasi-clones who shared a womb could conceive, while also easing the relatable listener into a pensive and reflective state of mind. LullaNAs’ boisterous pop songs and emotive ballads alike will have Ladybug fans reeling with sheer joy.
