On October 2, 2002, Theatre N at Nemours was opened as Wilmington’s only arthouse cinema, a project of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs under then-Mayor James Baker. Independent films are shown every weekend with state-of-the-art digital projection and sound system, and a concessions stand including beer and wine.

Theatre N was one of the first cinemas in the country to switch to digital in 2005. In 2016, we upgraded the latest in digital screening and sound equipment, but still have our 35 mm projector!
