In 2017, the Delaware Art Museum received 13 works of art previously on display in the Hotel du Pont in downtown Wilmington. The gift included watercolors by Andrew Wyeth and oil paintings by N.C. Wyeth, Frank Schoonover, and Edward Loper. Adorning the building’s public spaces, the hotel’s collection was formed over several decades to support local artists. The Museum is honored to keep these works in the community where they were produced, collected, and enjoyed for generations. A grant from the Bank of America Art Conservation Project makes the conservation and exhibition of these important works possible.Read more »
