Christ Church was founded in 1915 as Brack-Ex Methodist Church. It was located in a small building on the opposite side of Kirkwood Highway from our present location. As the community and Church expanded, it was clear by 1950 that a new facility was required for the growing congregation. The decision was made to build a new church on the present location at 6 N. Clifton Avenue in Roselle. The present church opened in 1955. At its peak in the 1980s over 350 people attended services each week. The neighborhood and the congregation are very different from 1955. Today’s excitement is around opening our hearts to hear God’s word and direction for us. We invite you to the excitement and challenge of discerning the direction God has in store for us.
Christ Church is home to many support and community groups that meet here. These include AA and NA, Boy Scout Troop 54 and Cub Pack 54, The Veteran’s Purple Heart Association, The Brack-Ex/Roselle Civic Association (BERCA), English as a Second Language, and two other worshipping congregations.
We rent the sanctuary for weddings, and our fellowship hall and kitchen plus other meeting rooms are rented for a wide variety of uses. Christ supports outreach of many kinds for the community, City of Wilmington and the world. We are active in the Mill Creek Ministerium of seven Churches
Our worship style is respectful, but relaxed. We encourage members to explore how they might feel called to participate in worship, music, and other aspects of church life.
